It’s amazing how quickly QR codes are popping up all over the place.  Here is a list of some places where they’ve been seen and a few ideas of where they might go in the future.

  • Best Buy reward card
  • Real estate for sale sign
  • Real estate flyer
  • Business card
  • Web site
  • Free online classified ad like Kijiji or Craigslist
  • On TV
  • On a résumé
  • On your ass at a QR Code hookup party
  • On a condom package
  • On your last will and testament
  • On your Tombstone / coffin
  • Display ad in magazine or other print media
  • Bus bench
  • Billboard
  • Tattoo
  • Clothing and apparel
  • All sorts of promotional giveaway items
  • Food product packaging
  • Political election signs
  • Restaurant menu
  • Bar coaster
  • On the bottom of your beach flipflops
  • Hotel lobby signs and pixel boards
  • Vehicles, police cars, fire trucks
  • Public washrooms to alert staff to clean or resupply
  • Large parking lots or garages so drivers can scan the code posted nearest to their car and find it with GPS when they return (easier than remembering G7.)

  • Points of interest, historic, monuments etc.
  • Missing person or pet posters
  • Pet tags to give owner’s contact information
  • In any kind of advertising that allows pictures but not links to your website (typically free ads)
